Layering florals this spring

Hello my beauties! It has been so long since I’ve last posted and I apologise! There have been so many new changes happening in my life that sometimes it’s hard to keep with the pace of things. I sincerely hope you all are doing well. The seasons have long changed and Indian summers hardly give us a chance to transition and adapt to the weather changes. But I am a summer kinda girl, who prefers a sunny climate any day and I am ready to welcome the season with full swing!
The one trend that resonates most with spring-summer is florals. And boy, have I been eagerly waiting to wear them ever since March started! There is no denying that soft/vintage florals have made a huge mark on Spring summer 2018 runways of well-known designers like Prabal Gurung. And no, you do not need a designer wear to get the same romantic feel in your wardrobe. There are plenty of ways you can achieve the look for a fraction of the price. Keep an eye out for Chiffon maxi dresses, skirts, wide-legged pants in satin, cover-ups and shrugs all in vintage floral prints to get the same appeal in your daily dressing.
In today’s post, I brought the runway look in my outfit by a simple layering of floral pieces. I chose to wear a plain pink spaghetti top with a sky blue shrug in floral print. I combined the top wear with a pair of black floral pants and completed the look with matching pink sling bag & heels. Simple and effective way to achieve the runway florals look and quite wearable for a lunch out with your besties or even a romantic date! Let me know what you think of this look and I will see you all in my next post!

Baby, it’s cold outside!

Hello, my warm cocoas! How is the year going so far? It’s almost mid-Jan now, boy does time fly by fast! As we move into an officially cold season, it’s time to add layer our wardrobes with some statement pieces that are sure to keep us warm for the days to come. Let’s have a look at what 2018 trends in winter are, shall we?

Oversized sweaters seem to be a season favourite with lots of fashion aficionados opting for a high collared variety. Red sweaters, jumpers, jackets and boots were also a popular darling this season. Jackets in neutral colours were such as greys, beige & tan also seen being worn more than darker colours. Duster coats, puffer jackets and parkas seen dominating wardrobes of young fashion followers. Also high neck ribbed tops were a favoured choice when it came to winter basics. As for winter accessories, beanies, berets and fuzzy hats were worn with much enthusiasm. Thigh-high boots in suede & velvet, slouchy boots & leather booties were the staples of most winter wardrobes this season.

In my previous post, I had mentioned that it isn’t that cold here in Mumbai. It gets cool during the evening & night time here, but it’s still not that chilly. Hence, the outfit I’ve put together today is very Mumbai- weather appropriate. I was lucky enough to snag 2 high neck tops (similar ones here, here & here) from the surprise sale Vero Moda had in December, and I thought they would be perfect for a winter outfit. The one featured in today’s post is navy blue in colour and I chose to pair it with a scallop-hemmed mini skirt from ASOS (similar ones here, here & here). I also layered my outfit with a sleeveless parka with pockets (found here & similar one here). A maroon sling bag (similar here & here) & black lace-up boots (similar here) completed my look.

All the links I’ve added have similar products so that you can effortlessly recreate this look, if you wish. To top it off, almost all products linked are on sale right now! Scroll down below to see how the outfit looks and I hope you like the look!
