Cheers to a New Year #2018!

A big hello to all you lovely people out there! We’re so close to the end of the year that is 2017, and what a whirlwind it has been. I’m sure we have all had our shares of highs and lows and so many memories we had and so many experiences we have taken from this year. But it’s now time to wipe the slate clean and start afresh with a ray of positivity and I hope 2018 will have lots of good things to offer.
Today’s post is a celebratory one and hence I wanted it to be really special. Although I have covered a lot of trends this year on the blog, there’s still one trend that I’ve always wanted to try and that is the monochrome trend. A one-toned outfit fashioned by combining pieces which are of the same colour to create a look. And I have always wanted to do it specifically in beige/nude colour. I am not much of a party goer or someone who does clubbing so doing a post wearing an outfit full of bling for a New year’s blog post would be very unlike me, so I decided to go with a simple, yet glamorous outfit.
One website which has been much talked about in the fashion world is SheIn, an online store which takes its inspiration from runway to create trendy clothing which is really affordable. And they very recently introduced a plus size range, which was so exciting to see. I had been on a hunt for mesh tops in India & it’s very hard to get it in my size here. I was really stoked to find a pearl beading mesh bodysuit in my size at such an inexpensive price. I really wanted to pair it with a nude pencil skirt/leather skirt to keep the look classy. But again I wasn’t able to find one in my size, which is okay because I found something even better!
While I was searching for a pencil skirt at the Splash store one day, I came across a pair of ribbed wide leg pants, which were calf length. It was really comfy and so fun to wear and it is the perfect nude colour to go with the outfit I had in mind. To put emphasise the nude-on-nude look I accessorised my outfit with a nude clutch with a peach pom-pom fitment and a pair of fur stilettos. A pair of pearl dangling earrings completed this monochrome ensemble.
I hope you enjoyed this all-nude outfit and I am so happy with how it looks! I might even try out an all-white or all-red look next time. I would like to conclude this post by thanking everyone who have been so supportive and encouraging towards this endeavour of mine. Blogging has been a huge part of my life for more than an year now, and all you amazing folks have had an important role in making my blog a success. I thank you with all my heart for making this year such a fantastic one for me. I hope we can continue on this journey in a bright new year. Till then, cheers my loves!

Can you hear the jingle bells ring?

Tis’ the season, my merry marshmallows! Hope you are having a jolly December. After all, tis’ the holiday season and what could possibly bring more delight than the festival that we all know as Christmas! Time to deck your wardrobes with warm knits, velvets and a lot of bling! Colours like Red, white, green, gold, silver all chime well with this jolly season.
I have seen a lot of reds and whites in terms of Christmas outfits, which I honestly love! But this year I thought of switching it up by taking the road less travelled. I muted down the use of red & white and decided to let the green and gold shine through in my Christmas outfit this year. Since I am not much of a party person, I decided to do a casual Outfit of the Day (OOTD, in short) instead of a Christmas glam look in my post today.
The idea first came to me when I saw this leather skirt on an online shopping site, and the green reminded me so much of the Christmas tree. I decided to pair this skirt with a cropped and oversized gold sweater, adding a modern touch to cosy winter sweater. I knew that I could easily pull off a crop sweater look as it does not get too cold here in Mumbai during winters. In fact, this outfit alone was keeping me so warm, I decided to ditch the black stockings and wear my nude block heeled pumps, which were super comfy. To complement the Christmas spirit, I added a pop of red to my outfit by pairing it with a red sling bag and a pair of matching red earrings. The earrings were in the shape of baubles, an ornamentation used widely to decorate Christmas trees.
On a side note, this is the third subsequent post featuring this red sling bag, it just shows how versatile a red bag can be and I am so happy I invested in it! That concludes my post for today, scroll down to check out the OOTD pictures and I wish you lovely folks a very merry Christmas!
