And most of all, I love fall!

And how many of you guys agree with the title? If someone were to describe my nature as weather, it would definitely be autumn. Autumn also starts in mid-September, which also happens to be my birthday month! Someone rightly said that autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go. And that’s when life starts all over again. In school, we were taught that autumn is a harvest season and the most popular produce associated with this season happens to be pumpkin and apple.
In the fashion world, autumn marks the transition from light summer wear to layered fall looks. The colours popularly recognized as “fall” colours are mustards, olive greens, military greens, burnt orange, oxblood reds, burgundys, browns, greys, etc. So if you want to update your wardrobe this season, be sure stock up these colours. One of the most popular trends seen in all retail fronts this season is “power sleeves”, mainly bringing focus on sleeves by adding ruffles, frills and other texture on them. Being a girly girl that I am, I couldn’t resist but try this trend! In fact, I think I am going to stock up my entire wardrobe with frilly, ahem, power sleeves.
The look I have styled today is a layered outfit in fall colours of mustard & grey. I’ve layered a top with frilled sleeves and a midi dress. The cami dress has a straight fit and cuts on both sides so it is really comfortable to just walk around. The best part is that I got it on sale while searching for a cami-dress at H&M! I’ve also accessorised the look with a black statement necklace and a matching messenger sling bag. For footwear, I wore my lace-up heels with a pair of mustard socks, to add to the layered look. It is a simple and wearable outfit, so I hope you are inspired to try it too.
