Wild & free- boho child

Heya folks! We’re back with yet another boho inspired post (you didn’t think we were stopping at just one, did you?). Today's post will be a guest post, featuring Kartika, my best bud & my confidant. It’s insane to think that we’ve completed a decade of camaraderie filled with ups & downs, crazy fun-filled moments altogether. Cheers, babe! Thanks for being there in the best chapters of my life. So good to have you as a part of my blog.
If I were to describe Karti’s style, I would say that it’s easy & effortless. There is an indication of every style type in her huge wardrobe (I’m pretty sure one can find the gateway to Narnia at the back of her wardrobe). So, when I asked her to jump on the bohemian bandwagon, she was more than happy to be a part of it.
Today, Kartika has worn an off- shoulder boho printed top with pom pom trimming. She’s paired her multicolored top with white denim and an aztec printed bag with fringed tassels. A statement necklace & gypsy earrings with gold sandals completed her boho-influenced ensemble. One just cannot go wrong with this fabulously chic & wearable look. So what’s your take on this trendy outfit? Comment below & let me know!

The Wanderer & the Seeker- Modern Boho

One of the most unconventional yet influential styles in the early twentieth century was the bohemian style of dressing. This trend, popularized by actress Sienna Miller and model Kate Moss, has made a comeback this season. And a welcome change indeed, as it is the style best suited for the free spirited.

Boho, which translates to “bohemian homeless”, is a style that essentially incorporates long and loose fitted garments, with fringed elements, long silver jewelry and can be completed by wearing a metallic/floral headgear. Its off-handed nature gives fashioners plenty of rope to mix and match as they please.

It's my first time wandering from the usual and exploring this off-the-cuff style. What I’ve worn today is a white peasant blouse and red printed shorts bordered with pom-poms. These colors are perfect as they’re bright and exude freshness. I’ve also accessorized this look with sandal with multi-colored pom-poms. It brings about playfulness and gives it a pop of color. I had a great time creating this look & what made it more memorable was sharing the day with my good friend Kartika, who also chimed in & bettered the look by beautifully braiding my hair. I absolutely love the understated eye makeup which she did with such patience & precision. And you may also get to see her in future posts, so stay tuned! Would you seek this trend? Let me know how you would style this trend in the comments below.

So in love with these sandals!

Beauty in the smallest corners

There is a sense of calm and joy that beautifying our home brings us. Cleaning, arranging and decorating are all synonymous with an elegant home. I personally love decorating and rearranging things around to make things look good even in the smallest corners of the house. It’s not that simple. Because everything that you add to a space, sets the mood for that space. It also reveals bits of your personality and taste to others. Hence, it’s imperative to learn and think before investing so that you don't end up buying  anything which you might not really need.

In today’s post, I’m elucidating on the topic of shower room decor. As all my lady friends will agree, we use a ton of products. And I’m no different. Most of these products end up cluttering the sink of my  bathroom. And in my day to day hustle, I end up spending more time searching for things in the clutter. So why not spend some time arranging it so you can save time on searching later? You look like a queen so your space needs to look like it belongs to one too.

So here it is:

My shower room, or in other words, bathroom, has a compact space so planning to fit in all my products as well as make space for adornment was slightly tricky. Here's what the space looked like originally:

Yep, that's it. Imagine a ton of products into this tiny space! I decided that I needed to prioritise the products I really need and get rid of the stuff I don't require on a day-to-day basis. So I put my products to the right half of the basin neatly in a tray. I also added flowers for a bit of freshness & potpourri to tantalise the senses.

And I enlivened the left part with a planter, a geometric lantern some hand towels & my cherished Zara fragrance. Since the tiles at the back are brown & white coloured, I decided to go with it as the colour theme for my decor. And I must say, I found it very classy.

This is how it looks on the whole:

I personally am not in favour of soap dishes, so I went for a mounted soap case and also added white toothbrush holder & a liquid soap dispenser duo.

In addition to this, I also have an empty space in the wall above the lavatory which could be used in an array of ways. So, I added 3 containers one containing detergent, one for decor & one for potpourri.

Some small tips for home decor:
1. Keep it simple.
2. Find common colours & keep them in mind while buying decor or utility products.
3. Trays & baskets make for a good storage option.
4. Greenery in any form always livens up any space.
5. Do not go the expensive way. Always try to recycle.
So that was the peak into my shower room decor. Hope it gave you some ideas on how you can make the most of your space in the shower room. I intend to do it up a bit more in future. Do comment below & let me know what you think!
